If the Cummins generator set suddenly drops in oil pressure during use, and the oil gauge needle suddenly points to zero, what would be the cause?
For a long-time engine, the sudden indication of oil pressure is zero, which is one of the common faults in maintenance. However, the sudden pressure of the oil pressure gauge pin does not necessarily mean that the oil pressure suddenly drops to zero. The real reason may be the following:
1) engine oil meter and line fault;
2) The oil sensor plug is faulty.
3) The oil pump is damaged.
4) The camshaft bearing comes out of the leaking oil.
5) The lubricating oil pipe such as the fuel injection pump, supercharger and air compressor is broken.
6) The oil pressure limiting valve is stuck in the open position and loses the pressure regulating function.
When the operating unit oil pressure suddenly becomes zero, it can be checked and removed from the above aspects.
