4 Steps to Reverse-Match an Unlabeled Filter

When part numbers fade, use a digital caliper to take these 4 key measurements:

Step 1: Thread Size ──► Step 2: Gasket ID/OD ──► Step 3: Canister OD ──► Step 4: Height

  1. Thread Size & Pitch (Most Critical): Measure thread diameter and distance between threads (e.g., M20 × 1.5 or 1"-14 UNS).
  2. Gasket Inner & Outer Diameter: Measure the rubber seal's inside (ID) and outside (OD) edges to ensure a leak-free fit.
  3. Canister Outer Diameter: Measure the widest part of the metal housing to check bracket clearance.
  4. Overall Height: Measure from the top mounting base down to the bottom dome.

Key Measurement Reference

1. Parameter What to Measure Example
Thread Diameter + Thread Pitch M27 × 2.0 or 1"-14 UNS
2. Gasket Rubber Seal OD / ID 72 mm / 62 mm
3. Canister Metal Body Diameter 93 mm
4. Height Top Base to Bottom Dome 175 mm
