What is fuel pump？

Fuel pump is one of the basic components of fuel injection system. Fuel pump is composed of electric motor, pressure limiter and check valve. Fuel pump is located inside vehicle fuel tank, fuel pump in the start and engine work running, if the engine is stopped and the ignition switch is still ON, HFM - SFI control module turning off the power of the fuel pump , in order to avoid accidental ignition.

The function of fuel pump is to draw fuel out of fuel tank, then transfer it to the fuel supply pipe after pressurization, and set up a certain fuel pressure with fuel pressure regulator.
