Air Filter Efficiency Is Directly Related To Engine Wear

The wear of engine cylinder liners and piston rings is quite complex. We generally divide the wear into three types:
(1) The dust concentration sucked into the air intake system is too high, causing abrasive wear.
(2) Adhesive wear occurs due to poor lubricating oil.
(3) Corrosion wear caused by combustion products.

Among them, abrasive wear plays a decisive role. According to some data, engine abrasive wear accounts for 60% to 75% of the total wear, and the air filter determines the amount of ash entering the engine intake system. Therefore, the air filter filtration efficiency is directly related to engine wear:
G=AxQxtx∈
In the formula:
G - Amount of dust sucked into the engine (g)
A - road dust concentration (g/m3)
Q-Engine average intake air volume
(m3/h)
t - car driving time (h).
∈-Air filter dust penetration rate (%)

The quality of the air filter will directly affect the life of the engine.
When the engine is working, it needs a lot of air, or clean air. If there are dust, impurities and other particles in the air, it will cause carbon deposition in the engine, early abnormal wear inside the engine, accelerated deterioration of the engine oil, resulting in high oil consumption, insufficient power, high fuel consumption, etc. Consequences of damage
Regular cleaning and replacement of air filters is a reasonable concept of car maintenance to extend the service life of the engine and reduce vehicle maintenance costs.
