The fuel filter is connected in series on the pipeline between the fuel pump and the throttle body oil inlet. Gasoline filter
Gasoline filters are divided into carburetor type and electronic fuel injection type.
For gasoline engines using carburetor, the gasoline filter is located on the inlet side of the fuel pump, with a lower working pressure and generally uses a nylon shell. The gasoline filter of the electronic fuel injection engine is located on the outlet side of the fuel pump, with a higher working pressure and generally uses a metal shell. The filter element of the gasoline filter is mostly made of filter paper, but there are also nylon cloth and polymer materials.
Since the combustion method of gasoline engines is different from that of diesel engines, the overall requirements of gasoline filters are not as stringent as those of diesel filters, so the price is cheaper.
