The BPV Protocol: The integrated Bypass Valve is a fail-safe. If the system operates in bypass mode due to a clogged filter, unfiltered oil enters the circuit. Replace the element immediately upon any high DP indication.

Installation: Clean filter head. Lubricate gasket with clean hydraulic fluid. Hand-tighten until seal contacts base, then rotate an additional 3/4 turn. DO NOT use a strap wrench to over-tighten.
